Why Join Scouts?

Cub Scouting, a year-round family program designed for boys in the first through fifth grades, or 7 to 10 years of age. The program emphasizes shared leadership, learning about the community, family understanding, character development, citizenship training, and personal fitness. Our boys participate in full range of activities such as camping, hiking, Pinewood derby, Space Derby, plus tons of other cool stuff. The pack also has summertime activities such as We Remember. Twilight Camp, 4th of July parade, and many many more fun activities.

How Can my Son Join?

Cub Scouts are elementary school aged boys and can signup any time during the year. Contact the Pack 456 Cub Master and we'll be happy to provide you with the necessary information to become one of the pack. APPLICATION AVAILABLE UNDER THE LINKS MENU ITEM ON LEFT SIDE OF HOME PAGE.

How Do I become a Scout Leader or Volunteer?

PACK 456 is always seeking Den Leaders and Volunteers to assist with development and education of our young men. If you wish to get involved and either lead a Den or simply volunteer, please contact the Pack 456 Cub Master and we'll be happy to provide you with the necessary information to become one of the pack.

To insure the safety of our Cub Scouts this is a secure password protected site. You should have received your user name and password via an email message. If you do not have your user name and password on the website or need your password reset, please contact the Pack 456 Cub Master.

Rank and Ages for Cub Scouts

  • Bobcat: The Bobcat badge is earned prior to all other ranks; If a boy joins as a Wolf, Bear or Webelo, he must earn the Bobcat badge first before receiving any other award or rank.
  • Tiger Cub: The rank for boys who have completed kindergarten (or 7-year-olds).
  • Wolf: The rank for boys who have completed first grade (or 8-year-olds).
  • Bear: The rank for boys who have completed second grade (or 9-year-olds).
  • Webelos: The rank for boys who have completed third grade (or 10-year-olds).
  • Arrow of Light: For fifth-graders (or 10-year-olds). Earned after the completion of the Webelos badge,
    usually during the second year of the Webelos program.

    Bring a friend to the next event! Those scouts that get a new scout to register with the pack will be awarded the Recruiter Badge!
